Lincoln, a man who, were he alive and president today, would be ripped to shreds and slandered wherever he went. And yet, he’s one of our heroes while recent and current presidents are perfectly acceptable for use as cannon fodder….

Does it really matter what kind of leader he was? We shouldn’t make fun of our leaders, no matter what. That was a horrible event that should not be taken lightly.

He basically shredded the Constitution as the basis for, and during the carrying out of the Civil War. Our Country was founded on the rght of the people to self govern (THAT is the real basis for the 2nd Amendment, not hunting, etc), and when the South tried to do that, he prevented it. Don’t get me wrong, he was a great leader and one of our better presidents for keeping this country together, but he certainly was not above criticism. And this is coming from a Northerner whose family fought against the Confederacy.

And very little understanding of history. Lincoln was no angel, not by a long shot. He did, however, manage to bury any semblance of “states rights” that might have existed prior to the Civil War. Thanks to him, we *all* live under the thumb of a federal tyranny now.
Besides.. the minute there’s something that’s “too sacred” to laugh at, mock, or likewise poke fun at… is the minute you know you’re taking yourself *waaay* too damn seriously.

To find this funny you have to see the video that its referring to. Theres a video or a guy using hacks in counter strike and spazzing out screaming and jumping up and down “boom headshot!! boom! HEADSHOT!!!!”
Lets also remember that Lincoln was the first republican president ever elected and was called every name in the book in the press while he was president. We know him as a great president because of what he did to end slavery and that he was assassinated during his presidency.
While it’s tragic that he was assassinated the mixture of the caption and the picture is funny in that dark historic event meets new attitude about violence in video games sort of way. Again you have to see the video to really get the joke.

I think the assassination was a conspiracy. There’s no way he could’ve shot him in the back of the head at that angle. It’s physically impossible.
